Come explore the world of Flamenco Technique and see how we can apply those techniques for increased musical expression on the classical guitar. We will explore the use of the thumb rest stroke in Francisco Tárrega’s “Lágrima,” and “Asturias,” by Isaac Albéniz. We will also use classical studies like “Etude 1” by Villa-Lobos to develop a more balanced right hand using the thumb rest-stroke, alzapúa as well as picado. We will also look at ways flamenco tremolo can help us improve our classical tremolo.

This is an exciting workshop intended to give the classical guitarist new tools of expression while developing a more balanced right hand.
