Jay Kacherski and Lina Morita, husband and wife duo, will play the premiere of Brazos de Dios, composed by J. Todd Frazier for guitar and piano. Guitarist and Fulbright Scholar, Kacherski, met pianist Lina Morita when they were both working on masters and doctorates at The Eastman School of Music. Kacherski received his doctorate fr The Butler School at UT-Austin. Morita is Professor of Piano at McNeese State University and Kacherski is guitar Instructor at Loyola University of New Orleans, the University of New Orleans, McNeese State University, & NOCCA - the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts J. Todd Frazier, composer and System Director at Houston Methodist Hospital’s Center for Performing Arts Medicine, received his undergraduate and graduate training in composition from The Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY, and The Juilliard School in New York City.His work, We Hold These Truths, the first movement of Thomas Jefferson; the Making of America, received its premiere at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. on April 3, 2011 by the National Symphony Orchestra with soprano Renee Fleming and conductor Christoph Eschenbach.

Kithara Duo (Olga Amelkina-Vera and Fernand Vera) has performed nationally as well as in Europe and South America. Olga, (from Belarus) is an international award-winning composer, receiving commissions for solo guitar and guitar ensemble music, as well as for compositions for guitar with other instruments and voice. At Collin College in Plano, Texas, Fernand directs the award-winning Guitar Studies program, and Olga teaches guitar, theory, history, and composition. As an educator and author, Fernand has written several guitar method books. He continuously contributes to the guitar ensemble repertoire through his numerous arrangements and transcriptions.
