An evening of passionate flamenco solo guitar with Houston guitarist, Jeremías García and solo classical guitar virtuosity with String by Mail sponsored artist, Matt Palmer.

Jeremy Garcia is a classically trained guitarist and composer who has made a successful transition to flamenco. In the flamenco setting, Jeremy is known as, "Jeremias el Valiente." In 2009 he met singer Irma la Paloma and they established a flamenco troupe, Solero Flamenco. Together, they direct the annual Houston Spanish and Flamenco Festival. As a soloist, Jeremy has appeared with the Fort Bend Symphony and with the Brazosport Symphony in a performance of Joaquin Rodrigo’s “Concierto de Aranjuez.” Recently, his orchestral arrangement of Los Cuatro Muleros was performed by the Grace Symphony Orchestra with Solero Flamenco. Jeremy has several recordings including Baile del Sol and Distancia. Presently, he directs the guitar program at San Jacinto College South. http://jeremygarcia.net/index.html

Guitarist Matt Palmer has appeared as a soloist throughout the United States, Europe, Mexico, Canada, South America, and the Caribbean He is a winner of numerous international guitar competitions, author of The Virtuoso Guitarist method, and has two recordings available Un tiempo fue Itálica famosa and Appassionata. His recent concert engagements include Carnegie Hall, Shakespeare Theatre, The Guitar Foundation of America International Convention, numerous universities, guitar societies, and dozens of international guitar festivals throughout the world. Matt is the Director of Guitar Studies at Washington College in Chestertown, Maryland, and Coordinator of the Eastern Shore Guitar Festival and Workshop. http://www.mattpalmerguitar.com

For family members of enrolled festival participants: Admission to Friday and Saturday night concerts is included in tuition for those enrolled in the festival, and their family members are admitted at $5 each.
